Corn Dog Bake

Ingredients

  • 1 box (8.5 oz.) corn muffin mix
  • 1 egg
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1/2 pound classic wieners, or 4 to 5 pieces, sliced about 1/4-in. thick
  • 1 can (4.5 oz.) chopped green chilies, drained
  • 1 jar (12 oz.) Heinz® HomeStyle Pork Gravy

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 400°F. Coat an 8x8 baking pan with nonstick cooking spray. In a large bowl, mix together muffin mix, egg and milk until mixed but slightly lumpy. Stir in sliced wieners and green chilies. Pour evenly into baking pan.

  • Bake uncovered for 20 to 25 minutes, or until or until internal temperature reaches 165 degrees.

  • Meanwhile, in a small saucepan over medium heat, cook gravy for 3 to 5 minutes, or until heated through, stirring occasionally. Cut cornbread into 6 portions and serve with warm gravy.

Tips

  • For a milder flavor, substitute chopped green chilies with creamed corn or whole corn kernels.
